Bridge" <> Subject: Alcor Director Change To CryoNet From Steve Bridge, Chairman Alcor Life Extension Foundation October 21, 1998 NEW ALCOR DIRECTOR At Alcor's annual Board meeting on September 13, 1998, Alcor elected Gary Meade to its Board of Directors. Gary replaced Carlos Mondragon, who has retired from Alcor's Board after more than 12 years of service. Gary Meade has been an Alcor member for seven years and has been a member of Alcor's Patient Care Trust Board for the past year. He has been employed as a corporate attorney for many years in California and Oregon. Both Gary and Carlos will remain Patient Care Trustees, but Gary will now be the official Alcor Board of Directors representative on the Trust Board. With the exception of Hugh Hixon, Carlos Mondragon was the longest remaining Alcor Director. Carlos had been there for most of Alcor's transitions and crises and was one of the keys to Alcor surviving the Dora Kent affair in 1988, when he became Alcor's President. He remained President until the beginning of 1993, then continued as one of Alcor's most important Directors. His financial knowledge, Alcor history, and unwavering committment to patient security were crucial to Alcor's direction. Carlos will continue to be an official Advisor to the Board of Directors. And, for the record, there really should be an accent mark over the second "o" in "Mondragon," but it doesn't translate to ASCII.
