The question has been asked, why does anyone need to see a videotape of
the presentations made by 21st Century Medicine scientists on November 8?
What's wrong with an audio transcript or written text?

The presentations were extremely technical. They were accompanied by many
color slides which were a significant aid to understanding key concepts
and data. I am only just starting to wrestle with the problem, myself, of
presenting this via text and illustrations. It's nontrivial.

A video will definitely be the best medium for conveying the
presentations, especially since a couple of them included their own video
clips made in the lab, demonstrating (for instance) the almost total
vitrification of water (mixed with cryoprotectant) in a large glass flask.

I thank Scott Badger for offering to help with tape transcripts. The
situation here just became more problematic in that the Hi8 camcorder
that I used to make my own tapes of the conference is now malfunctioning,
unable to achieve sync when playing any previously made tape. Looks like
I will have to buy a new camcorder. Until that time (maybe next week) I
will be unable to play or duplicate my own tapes, and of course I am
reluctant to send out my only copies.
