X-Message-Number: 10855 From: "Oro Viejo" <> Subject: Trusts - "Time is Money" vs "Unlimited Time" Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 22:49:18 -0600 Friends, I read the Trust discussions with (compound) interest (pun intended)! I, too, am working towards the same goals. I want to be able to justify and to pay for the cost of my reanimation. BUT .. Historically, it seems the concept of "money" is derived from the real need to create a "medium of exchange" for our "time" (in labor)...the only irreplaceable commodity (to date). If we as individuals achieve a virtually unlimited amount of time as entities, especially able to control a bank account, whence comes the value of money? As an alternate "Trust", perhaps our memories of the past are the more valuable commodity Do we assault the future with concepts of money and wealth from the past? we of Cryonics, least amongst the hoard, ought to have a clearer vision for our future sustenance, as we are those who most vociferously "rage against the dying of the light" . oro Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=10855
