I agree that agreat deal of what we consider scarce today will not be
tomorrow, but there still will be scarcity of a different nature. And I am
not thinking of the bleak futures. However, only in the utopia that you
describe where I can get whatever I want whenever I want it immediately,
at no cost in producing it, will there be no need for trade. When nothing
can be gained from other human beings, then there will be no need to trade
and therefore no need for money. I find it hard to believe that there will
be a time that there will be *nothing* to gain from interacting with human
beings. And if there is something to be gained and you want first crack at
it, you might have to trade for it, and some form of money will be
convenient.
