X-Message-Number: 11585 From: "Thomas Nord" <> Subject: Suicides and autopsys Date: Tue, 20 Apr 1999 22:08:36 +0100 Thomas D and others: Not just suicide, that's legal in most places, assisted is legal in Oregon and Switzerland and Netherlands as I wrote before. The Australians said outsiders is not welcome, Netherlands may be the same , they are very liberal, its not legal there but its never prosecuted! Guess no place like amounts of dying immigrants. What's up in Oregon? The Swiss are not known for this and I haven't double-checked what I heard in the radio. That's easy done if someone take the time to do it. You mentioned a courtcase from Ca. I guess more than I haven't read that before. Can you inform more or refer to other page/s? John De Rivaz and others: We mustn't forget autopsies are good for medical research and against criminal acts. We better only seek the right to avoid one if there is a motivation as we have. Bob mentioned hospice as seem to be good if it all can be done without pain, as I know can be a problem sometimes and that's where assisted comes in. But how can that be done without damage for perfusion and reanimation?
