ABSTRACT
This talk has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do
with a modern scientific look at an old philosophical problem. Our
knowledge of Digital Computers and of the kinds of informational
processes performed by computers can allow us to define a set of
informational constructs that embody most of the attributes commonly
ascribed to the concept of "Soul." Our approach is to start with a
clear and straightforward definition of "Soul" and proceed to show
that we have captured common intuitive notions as to what the Soul is.
Finally, we use our new definitions to develop answers to most open
questions about the Soul, with the exception of religious issues.
