I think there is software around that will automatically produce database
tables from posted mail and just mail out the headers as hypertext links to
people on the list. That way people could just click on any topics of
interest to retrieve the body of the text. this would even work for text
browsers like lynx.

The stuff is getting archived anyway so this should be a small modification
that will satisfy everyone.
