To George Smith:

At least as far as I am concerned you are not a "voice alone in the
wilderness." I don't presume to tell anyone how to spend their money nor
would I suggest that money should be diverted from research. I do believe
that the overall goal of reversible cryonic suspension would be enabled by
increasing the ranks of interested parties. More money + more brain power
will inevitably = more momentum and speed of deployment.

The question, of course, is how to accomplish this. I would agree that
considering the effort has been going on now for 30 plus years there remains
a relatively paltry sum of people engaged. Perhaps it has been better to
build a solid base slowly. I certainly don't think, however, that it would
be counter productive to try to expand the client base and "spread the word"
on the ideas expounded here.

The overall brain structure/information preservation concept seems so
simple and logical that I think if more people heard of it there would be
less immediate knee jerk rejection of cryonics. Success in the science is
one but not the only way to persuade those resistent or ignorant.

Of course we all sit in our armchairs pointing this way and that. Sooner
or later if its such a great idea somebody will have to roll up their
sleeves, write a check or get started. First, however, must come some
consensus.
