Hmm. I'd like to signal a future point. My wife, who studied zoology and 
comparative biochemistry a lot before she entered the drug industry, tells
me that BATS have been known to survive subfreezing temperatures for a long
time. Barnes may not have the precedence he claims. (Sorry, I've not been
interested in bats so I'd have to search hard for a reference, can't do 
that now). Other than the issue of precedence it was interesting.
