Subject: About experiments "proving" DHEA doesn't work
Date: Sat, 23 Oct 1999 22:00:39 +1000 (EST)

Hi!

About a SINGLE experiment indicating that DHEA doesn't work: I myself am
very skeptical of DHEA. However the experiment cited in this Cryonet used
only one dose, leaving the question open as to other doses, and possibly
other regimens of treatment ie. not daily but every other day, etc. To
prove a negative statement is fundamentally impossible.

The very worst thing I'd say about DHEA is that it has taken as long as
this for ANYONE to PUBLISH a lifespan experiment with ANY animal. If
anything, this suggests to me that its advocates themselves don't believe
that DHEA will actually prolong lifespan. It may make you feel better,
yes, but not make you live longer.

In any case, Doug Skrecky deserves thanks for bringing this experiment
to our attention.

Best and long long life for all,
