A BBC news report that a CD spin-off from an Internet web site may usurp
the record charts for the Millennium no 1 may seem to have dubious
connection with cryonics and life extension. But I see a connection there.

Since the popularity of the Internet has expanded, more and more people have
discovered cryonics and by an anonymity of newsgroups and web sites have not
felt threatened whilst finding out more. Eventually some of them have signed
up.

If this news story comes true and The Hamster Dance CD originating from
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/4157/hampdance.html
outsells Sir Cliff Richard singing "The Lord's Prayer" and similar material
it will be yet another boost for the Internet, and once again demonstrate
how people voting with their mice can outbid the official power structures,
in this case of the record industry.

It gives hope for the future of the cryonics movement, which has formidable
opposition in the well entrenched structure of beliefs about death, the
professions surrounding them, and people's unwillingness to stand out from
the crowd.

Any cryonicist and life extender wanting to spread a little fun can click on
this web link and send a hamster greetings card they can create from a list
of options to their friends, totally free!
