A possible use for surplus liquid nitrogen was suggested on a BBC television
programme (possibly Tomorrow's World) - transport. Cars containing cylinders
of liquid nitrogen would use atmospheric heat to boil the nitrogen and use
the expansion in a "steam" engine for propulsion.

I am not totally convinced that the idea is practical, but it would be
convenient for people killed in road accidents - they would be cryopreserved
instead of cremated by fuel spillage :-)

The programme showed a van using the technology, so it certainly works even
if only for a one-off example.
