I am sorry because I have read several of his articles, and enjoyed them. He was a popularizer of explorations of altered states, and a needed balance for the current prohibitions against personal altered states experimentation. Unfortunately, like Tim Leary before him, (assumed from your posting), his creative and innovative brain pattern is irretrievably gone. Highly unfortunate, IMHO. I tried to email you personally instead of posting this to cryonet, as it may be off topic, but could not make execute. I remember reading McKenna article about a psychotropic drug that was reportadly able to cure addicts and alchoholics in a single session. Does anyone have info on this? You can email me personally at if your response is not appropriate to cryonet, or you think it would not be of general interest. I for one am fascinated by psychotropic drugs, and an unabashed proponet that everyone should try psylocybine under appropriate conditions at least once in their life. In a more extropian and libertarian future, I am convinced that many will benefit from the safe and fully informed use of "magic molecules" that are currently under state prohibition. Maturity, good judgement, and discretion are of course advised as a requisite for such experimentation. Many of the consciousness expanding libertarian oriented readers of this posting know that this goes without saying. Sorry if this posting if not directly related to cryonics. I guess this would not be the very first "off point" posting on this board!:) Rudi Hoffman Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=13482
