X-Message-Number: 1361 Date: 26 Nov 92 17:53:11 EST From: Brenda Peters <> Subject: CRYONICS From: Brenda Peters To: Keith Henson You said you heard "one member of the (Investment) committee was embarrassing the others to the point that they quit". You also said you heard it "indirectly from Michael Riskin". I talked to Michael Riskin today and he said it's a lie to say you (or anyone else) heard such a thing from him. He said he called you up today when he had heard about your misrepresenting him on the net last night and you appologized. He also said you admitted you didn't believe the rumour when you posted it. I'd like to ask you Keith, why you would choose to post somthing which you believed to be both untrue, and a rumor and which you clearly did not attempt to verify. I believe it is grossly irresponsible of you to do so. I'd like to know your motives for doing such things. Keith, you say that information was not forthcoming to the Investment Committee from Alcor "partly because of the arrogant and obnoxious way (Eric) asks for anything". Are you telling me that my future and my life is dependant upon someone refusing (for personality reasons) a Board elected Committee with the information it requires to do it's job? That may be the way you operate but I hope (and I don't believe) it's the way Alcor in general, operates. I have been refused things in the past which I had a legal right to have, but it was not Alcor's doing. It was the action of a single misguided individual. I hope those days are over. Keith, you ask Courtney to "get a legal opinion that the trust fund is seriously vulnerable". I challenge you to get a legal opinion that the fund is not vulnerable. Carlos tried and he couldn't do it. The fact is that we still have not taken appropriate action to protect the patients' assets but I hope to see that happen in the next month or two. Frankly it doesn't matter whether you "take (Courtney's) comments seriously" or not. There are enough people in this organization who are aware of the merit of them that I am confident we will get these things done whether you care to offer your serious consideration or not. You say "it is ok by me for Brenda to let (Courtney) read (the Keith Henson memo regarding his violation of member confidentiality)". Frankly, Keith, I am amazed that you would want anyone to see it. My interpretation of your memo was that you (for the second time) bragged about violating member confidentiality and implicitly said you'd do it again if you felt like it. And the worst part of is, your midnight violation was totally unnecessary according to the excuse you used as your justification. You seemed to have chosen the clandestine method rather than the honest and straightforward. By the way, I am also a member of Alcor's Board and I do not recall passing a motion (or a "decision") that said it was ok to violate members' confidentiality. You refer to such a motion in a recent memo of yours. It doesn't make sense that we would vote on such a thing. Did I space out? Does any other member of the board recall voting on such a motion? If not, Keith I'd like to know your motivations behind claiming such a thing. Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=1361
