While I haven't yet received the issue of SCIENCE Gary Tripp refers too, I do subscribe and confidently expect to receive it, I hope in time for the next issue. Many features of Tripp's discussion resemble previous work on memory, however. One feature which needs more investigation isn't just the strengthening of synapses but the production of new synapses. And since the recent discovery that at least one primate makes new neurons throughout its brain IN ADULTHOOD, the implication that we may do the same needs more exploration. The workings of memory remain only partially understood. Best wishes and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=13759
