Chicago - The tissue that constitutes a human body has a market value of more than R500 000 excluding the organs, a recent edition of the Chicago Tribune newspaper reported. The total worth of all reusable tissue in a body - excluding the organs, which were not for sale - exceeded R1,6 million, tissue industry sources reportedly told the newspaper. However, since not all the tissue was normally taken from a single donor, the average market yield per cadaver was estimated around R570 000. With all healthy organs removed for transplantation, the human body yielded 130 items of marketable tissue which were then sterilised, cut up and packaged, the report said. - Sapa Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=13778
