No, they need less (funding that is) because the cost of maintaining them in
liquid nitrogen is less.

Especially sad. He died and was not frozen. I corresponded with him over the
years. Though he was pro-cryonics, and though he was respected by many
cryonicists for his good nature and hospitality, he would not sign up. Then
finally (my impression was that) he read some work by Merkle on the
feasibility of resuscitation by future technology, and decided to make the
arrangements. But again, they were never made and now he's gone.
