Hi everyone,

George, I think you are unique amongst all cryonet members. Perhaps you are so
rare that you are born one in a billion (not to mention people like Saul Kent
and Mr. Ettinger and a few others. But my main aim of the lengthy post was to
highlight two points;

- The most successful (dynamic) institution in the world today is the corporate
structure. I would trust a company (like CI with a board of directors who hold
their meetings regularly) rather than a charitable or quasi government
organisation to freeze me so that I can be revived. But can you imagine any
board today having an 'Annual general meeting' through e-mails. Hardly! It won't
work. I am sure human psychology plays a very important role and ideas
discussed together (face to face) have a far higher chance of being implemented.
Can you have a marraige without staying together with your wife?. How long will
it last? What I mean by a "World conference" is to meet so that we can have
some focus and impact. Like for example all the cryonic associations all over
the world can make a bigger impression on the public if they do it from a single
platform. IT GETS NOTICED. Our membership will spike upwards. Why do you think
companies spend so much on advts. every year? Forget that! Why does the peacock
have a tail that it can hardly carry around to attract the opposite sex? ITS AN
AD TO SELL IT'S GENES! So a conference will be our biggest AD! Of course we
will have to spend money. But who says that conquering death is going to be
cheap. And it is we who have to do it. Or ask Mr. Clinton to fund our plans!!

- The second and more important reason is that cryonics also means crisis
management on a grand scale. If you believe that we can conquer death, we have
to go all out and add to cryonics a lot of other issues which are equally
important. Some of these are;1) Maximum safety of our lives 2) Right to be
suspended and revived (if we have made the necessary arrangements) 3) A holistic
approach to living that increases the chances of survival of our enviornment.
4) Cultural acceptance of cryonics (very important) 5) Commercialisation (of the
cryonics movement)- This might sound impossible but do you know how much money
is collected by the religious establishment all over the world? And what do the
"faithful" get in return? ----- Actually we need to redefine the focus of the
world. And when we have a world cryonics conference( and I bet you George, if
we get more successful we'll have one without I having to do anything! ) we will
be talking to people across the spectrum - people from nanotechnology,
biotechnology, artficial intelligence, computing, quantum physics, evolution,
anthropology ... the list goes on... AND - POLITICAL LEADERS! AND - HUMAN
RIGHTS CHAMPIONS! AND - ENVIORNMENTALISTS AND - COSMOLOGISTS (for asteriod
impacts! and how to prevent them) even ARMY GENERALS (if they can
help!).....PEOPLE WHO (accept very few) CURRENTLY DON'T PARTICIPATE ON CRYONET!!

By the way what is the membership of cryonet 500? 1000? 2000? I see the same
people almost every day - John Rivaz, John Grigg, George, Thomes, Doug, Robert
Ettinger, Saul Kent, Mike, Jan , Kennita,Scott, Stephen....a few more and
myself. Out of 6,000,000,000 people on Earth!!!

There is nothing that we cannot improve. On a scale of 1 to 10 we are nowhere
near 10 in anything we do. We can infact never reach 10! We cannot be 100% safe
from accidents or earthquakes or asteriod impacts or the BIG BUST! (opp of BIG
BANG). But we can definetly improve. And for that we need to add to our
"cryonics only" minds a little more that we can do to increase the chances of
our ultimate goal here at cryonet - IMMORTALITY.

Bye!

Gurvinder
