Thank you for asking :-) I was going for a visit to the US by automobile. I had a computer in my car with visible monitor. I stated my occupation as Internet advisor and consultant. I was flagged over for further inspection and questioning. Under questioning, I stated that I was paid by a US company with US customers to do my work and that, yes, I would be continuing that work sporadically while on holiday in the US, and had done so before. I was then charged will the offense of working in the US without visa permission. I was then fingerprinted, placed under oath, prosecuted, judged, and sentenced by the same INS officials. All of this took over 7 hours while my dog sat in the car after they searched and ransacked it. The penalty for the offense of being an illegal alien working in the US is 5 years disbarrment, with no appeal except to the US Attorney General. If I try to cross the border or am found within the US during that period, I will be charged with a felony which can result in a jail term for a period of 2-20 years, and/or a fine of up to $250,000. Sorry, but until you US citizens eradicate this gang of hooligans on your borders, you will just have to do without me. Paul Wakfer Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=14298
