Subject: chemicals which may increase lifespan

Hi everyone!

Glutatione is a natural antioxidant made by our cells. Clearly not
everyone makes the same amount, particularly if they become older...
as all of us now do. That is basically why it is interesting for aging.
And why the experiment by the Louisville researchers was done in the
first place.

It also justifies the use of other antioxidants in the attempt to
mimic glutathione. Glutathione itself is hard to deal with as a drug
to be taken by someone.

Since Mike Perry describes his book in this set of Cryonets, I may as
well point out that I have written a book on drugs which may increase
our lifespan. The drug must be one which does not harm human beings
when they take it, and which in addition increases the lifespan of
one or more species of HEALTHY MAMMAL (in practice, mice, rats, or
hamsters or guinea pigs ... all of which have lifespans short enough
that we can actually test the effect of the drug on lifespans).

The book is A GUIDE TO ANTIAGING DRUGS, available presently from me
for $20 US plus postage. I am also involved in working out an agreement
with ACS to sell it in the US, but that agreement hasn't yet been
completed.

Best wishes and long long life to all,

			Thomas Donaldson
