NO, in principle (and in the future in practice) copies of individuals 
can be made without *ANY understanding* of how the human mind works! 

And clones are bad examples. They are certainly not copies with 
identical identities. As a matter of fact, genetical twins actually 
are clones. And as everybody will know, they do not seem to claim 
to have identical identities.
