Subject: Brain states and magnetic waves

Hi, John Clark! Yesterday you mentioned in talking about the "self
circuit", "standing waves", etc.:

"I don't see how it could be electric or magnetic, a brain subjected to even
very intense fields has little effect on its operation."

A Canadian medical researcher named Persinger has been performing quite a
few experiments with pulsed magnetic fields to the brain and has been able
to generate a wide range of peculiar consciousness states to include
dissociation (out of body subjective experience), intense fear, joy,
pleasure, etc. (Sorry no link offhand available but I've even seen
Persinger on Discovery Channel documentaries on television so it should not
be too hard to find).

As soon as it seems this will not rot the brain, I want one of his little
caps to wear so I don't have to keep buying coffee from Starbucks!

Anyway, as strange as it may seem, the brain seems to be profoundly affected
by at least magnetic pulsed waves and the particular effects so generated
can play havoc with our subjective sense of "self". It seems that this
might be considered possible evidence that Professor Ettinger's "standing
wave self-circuit" might just be correct.

Just a suggestion.

George Smith
