So you seem to agree with the theory that identity is information. 
(Otherwise an equivalent copy could not be made!)

You seem to assume that physical continuity is required.
(Not continuity in time, otherwise you wouldn't consider 
freezing yourself as surviving.) 

However if you consider identity as information based (as 
you seem to do) then it is only rational to consider continuity 
in information as sufficient for survival. 

Of course, the instinct to survive is an emotional one and 
does therefore not have to be based on rational logic.
