Okay, I'll call it quits here since Bob, as a retired guy enjoying some
leisure, clearly has the ability to overwhelm my posts in sheer volume,
quite apart from other considerations. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if
all this excitement is good for his health. And, as of today, he did
finally address the question I had been asking (even thought I still felt
the answer was misleading). Meanwhile I have said all that I have to
say...

...on THOSE topics. I do still feel there is an obvious need for an
independently edited and published cryonics magazine on other topics.
Bob's own posts have made this clear to me. So long as the only informed
people who make statements on current issues are those who have a clearly
partisan bias, the cryonics community is not being well served with full
information. Statements may be one-sided, or may contain inaccuracies, or
may be incomplete, and no one will know the difference.

Since I have no loyalties to any active cryonics organization right now,
I'm going to start the independent news magazine myself. Quick bulletins
will be sent online via a mail list, while longer pieces that also include
high-quality halftones will be printed, together with a summary of
online bulletins, and of course responses or comments from others. I
suppose I should thank Bob for giving me the impetus to start this
venture.

I don't much look forward to this chore, because it _is_ a chore; but the
decline of timely, detailed news from Alcor, and the persistence of Bob
Ettinger explaining other people's work in a style that just happens to
suit his own agenda, makes me feel I have no choice.

For the next week or two I have no free time, because of work deadlines.
After that, I'll post a message here giving the name of my publication,
the URL of its web site, subscription details, and email details.
