Subject: Wakfer quick note

Wakfer's # 15349 includes this:

>nothing I have said above in any many strengthens Ettinger's position that
the >methods used by CI are in any manner superior to those advocated by 21CM.

Where have I said that the CI procedures are superior to those advocated by
21CM?

I have emphasized primarily two things in the recent go-rounds:

1. CI relies mainly on its own observations and evaluations of its results by
qualified professionals. We have had no opportunity to test methods advocated
by 21CM.

2. Fred Chamberlain's claims for Alcor's current "vitrification" procedure
are exaggerated. The exaggeration is primarily in the headline
("Vitrification arrives!") and in reporting techniques such as showing photos
of tissue rewarmed from - 80 C only, in failing to make clear to hasty or
uncritical readers that the evidence of efficacy is partial, indirect, based
on small samples, and not confirmed by independent investigators.
