Hmm. This is exactly the same questioned I first asked of the cryonics community when I became interested several years ago. Aside from the possiblity that the applicant lied on the application, virtually all the insurance cos pay up. And in fact, I think that in many cases, if 2 years has passed from when payments began, they are much more likely to pay off anyway. Steve Bridge knows a lot about this, but as his last message indicated, he is no longer reading the list. AS far as AIDS goes, I suppose they would or could deny payment. However I note that the patient would already be cryopreserved by the time they decide whether or not to pay. Of course, the cryonics org would take the hit, and that could not be a good thing. I suppose the policyholder could possibly be able to recompensate the cryo org in some other form, such as willing real estate, etc. I recall from about 3 weeks ago or so, that a poster on the Extropian mailing list said that he/she had a policy for cryonics with a company that did not ask for a physical exam/blood. You could check out the archives. Also, you may consider taking out small term life policies, say 2 or 3 term life policies of < 25K. These may very well not require an examination/blood samples, although they are for a max of 20 years or so. Added up, these may cover suspension. There may be a workaround, etc. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
