Subject: another patient

The Cryonics Institute has its 37th human whole-body patient.

There will be more information in the next issue of The Immortalist, but I'll
say now that it was another cliff-hanger. Again we had a family with a
long-time interest in cryonics, but no actual arrangements in place. We had
to make legal, financial, and practical arrangements in a single day, and
with an unusual obstacle to boot. This is usually not possible, but
occasionally we manage it, and we did this time, with help from Connie
Ettinger and a local funeral director who was even more competent and helpful
than most--one who had worked with us in the past.

And again, if some of you out there are thinking of joining, you may want to
think again about the possible price of delay. As for the cost of joining and
making your arrangements, in most cases it isn't much--just cigarette money
or beer money--and the paperwork usually isn't a big hassle either.
