Responding to the discussions about immigration requirements to the USA to
set up a "Cryonics Retirement Community",

I submit that the USA, while a great place to EARN money, is about the
WORST place to retire to, in terms of cost of living. If you can "think
globally", you have many more and better choices.

According to a newsletter I subscribe to, Ecuador currently holds the
distinction of the lowest cost of living in the world. Panama is a close
runner-up. Even Mexico is better than here. There are already enclaves of
USA retirees there.

If you stay in this hemisphere, you can still get American TV via
satellite. The satellites are over the equator and the countries mentioned
are closer than we are.

If you don't want to learn Spanish, consider the Philippines, where English
is a universal 2nd language, tought in primary school. Cost of living is
also much lower there. This includes medical care. Nurse graduates earn
about $100/month. I got an eye exam, plus treatment for a stye, for $15. A
new pair of reading glasses, including frame, $50. Some minor dental work
involving some drilling, $8.
