IMNSHO, Bush said the right thing. We were being so sweet to China about
the plane thing that they may have felt we were getting soft, and the
best way to make sure they wouldn't attack Taiwan was to let them know
they'd have to deal with us if they did.

China has to bluster back lest their own people think *they* are getting
soft, and the rest of the world is just worrying in diplomat-ese. I
wouldn't worry about it too much. (Also keep in mind that the liberal
press is poised to spin everything Bush does in the most negative and
alarmist light possible.)

Of course, if anybody reads the site below and wants to send just one
nuke, it might be to Luke, and it might not be China who sends it. I
google'd "location american military bases" and found a site with

http://www.military.com/InstallationGuides/InstallationDetails?lb_installation_code=280:

      Luke AFB, AZ
      Phoenix, AZ

Welcome to Luke AFB, the largest Fighter Wing in the world!

They probably picked that location for the same reason that Alcor did. Oh
well. If it makes you feel any better, even the biggest nukes (of which
there aren't many) don't kill most people more than about 10 miles away
(less if they're indoors), and there's no way for China to get all those
people they outnumber us by over here, and they know that, and they are very
unlikely to fight a war they can't win.

Let's get on with life. As Worf once said, "A siege mentality is ultimately
self-defeating." If you are more concerned about US/China relations than you
are about the Drug War, I think there may be some discussion to have about
which is more likely to affect your life span. I have opinions about the
seige mentality that the pro-drug forces are displaying, too, but that's a
different discussion.

Live long and prosper,
Kennita
