Can anyone tell me if this is true? That's how much for a neurosuspension (freezing the head). Freezing the whole body is more. >Is there any yearly "maintenance" costs if you are frozen? Most of the suspension minimum is invested. Alcor assumes a 2% real return on investment, and the size of the investment is adjusted to make this much as they need for maintenance, plus a sizeable safety margin. If you call Alcor at 800-367-2228 and ask for a copy of "Cryonics: Reaching for Tomorrow", you'll find a detailed breakdown of the costs involved in a suspension starting on page A-31. You can contact Alcor via email at The Cryonics Institute in Detroit has significantly lower fees. All this is discussed in the cryonics FAQ, which is available from Kevin Brown. Tim Freeman P.S. I didn't see any response to Caroth's question on the list, so I didn't know whether anybody responded. Should this response have been posted to the list? If not, then how do we avoid duplication of effort? Should I assume that Alcor will take care of routine information requests that appear on the list?
