Subject: Vitamin C

>So how much vitamin C do I take?

It is unfortunate that Fair4us has put his question in a tone that cast
doubt on Mike Darwin's integrity. I am glad that he finally expressed
regret for his phrasing. I hope we have all learned that if you want to get
information rather than insults, it helps to be careful about how you ask
for it.

It is also unfortunate that the ensuing discussion is about tone instead of
substance. I don't know Mike personally, but from his posts and from what I
have heard about him, I have developed respect for his thoroughness and
competence. Therefore, I am worried about vitamin C. I have used doses
ranging from 500-1000mg over several years, and had much fewer colds than
before. However, I also have a history of heart attacks and strokes in my
family that I need to worry about.

So I would appreciate input from anybody who has useful data that either
supports or contradicts Mike's recommendation to limit intake to 250mg a day.
