Brown" <> Subject: Posting Rule Change for CryoNet Everyone, I just modified the CryoNet software so that the maximum message size now is 20 KB rather than 40 KB and so that no more than four messages from the same source will be included in a nightly digest. (By coincidence, this is almost exactly what Charles Platt suggested.) When the number of messages from the same poster exceeds four, the treatment is the same as for messages that are too long; the digest includes a brief explanation that tells readers how to retrieve the fifth, sixth, etc. messages from the archives, but the text of those messages is not included in the digest. That brief explanation, for messages excluded from the digest, now is improved so that it includes a URL as well as email retrieval instructions. As a result, the nightly digests now automatically replace the text of messages from prolific posters with URLs to those messages, which is exactly what I recently requested be done manually. I hope that this change is agreeable to the CryoNet readers. Kevin Q. Brown Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=16879
