Mike Darwin once more provided a good summary. I will comment that
I see no conflict between what I said and what he's saying, though
there is a different emphasis. In most cases, the temperature goes
down from 25 C in a short time ... as a simple point to think about.

Nor, for that matter, do we often try to preserve people who have
been buried. 

The main issue is that of just how long it takes for such destruction
of someone's brain. I note that Darwin, too, sees it as variable.
