X-Message-Number: 1719 Newsgroups: sci.cryonics From: (Richard Feynman's Ghost) Subject: Cryonics and The Death Penalty Message-ID: <> Date: Sun, 7 Feb 1993 22:06:23 GMT Since there is such a controversy over using the death penalty, but so many people feel it is morally acceptable and necessary for prison population/economic control, why don't we use cryonics as the solution? Major Advantages: (1) Cryonic suspension is in the most pessimistic case a death sentence, but is likely just a long prison term (*haha*) (2 & 3) It defers moral judgement. We as a society can forego judgement until society is in more advanced stage and can better deal with criminals through therapy. In essence we are giving these criminals a chance later. (4) It would likely fuel research into cryonics... Disads (1) *EXPENSE* (2) Cruel and unusual punishment... Following this: could someone explain to me theories on the brain while in cryonic suspension. Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=1719
