But I have been reading previous postings, courtesy of Kevin Brown, and I must say it is quite a revelation. In the words of Monty Python, "I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition." Or to be more specific, I didn't expect to read interrogations in the style of a Senate hearing. But that is exactly what Mr. Pizer's nagging questions remind me of. He uses the same fake politeness that Senators use, formal and gentlemanly, while underneath you can just tell he wants to STICK IT TO THE GUY really bad. I don't know the rights and wrongs of things that happened twenty years ago, and I don't much want to know, because I am interested in cryonics right now. But I have also read some of the text written by Michael Darwin, and there is a BIG semantic difference between him and Mr. Pizer. I think that whatever your opinion of Mr. Darwin's choice of words (and is that his real name, incidentally?) you have to see that the man is very, very sincere. This is more than you can say for Mr. Pizer, who I would not trust any more than a Southern gentleman trying to sell me swampland as a site for a new condo. So this is the impression that has been made on me, a relative newcomer. And this leads me to my point, which is that other people who have complained about name-calling and so forth seem to throw all the postings together, as if there is no difference between Darwin and Pizer. As I say, I don't know who's factually correct, but there is a hell of a big difference between the way these people express themselves. And if I don't have any other signposts to guide me, I'll go with the guy who seems to put his heart into things and tell it like it is, not the guy who sounds like he's questioning a nominee for Attorney General and trying to dig up dirt, meanwhile pretending he's just a plain and simple country boy. Hell with that! Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=1741
