Date: Tue, 04 Sep 2001 23:51:20 First George, I want to know why animals are always biting you? What do you do to them? ; ) Or were the animals where you grew up just plain bad? You better stay away from my bestfriend's ferret! lol I want to say I very much agree with George on his points about the "swell" of technological progress which will only become greater and greater. We have much to be positive about. I would hope most people here have read Damien Broderick's excellent book on the subject entitled, "The Spike." Still, Charles is very right in that we don't know exactly how much information is being lost by the present cryonics process when done to humans(even considering vitrification). There could be far more loss then we realize, and if so then even the super-advanced technology of the far future might not be able to ever recover it. 21st Century Medicine most prominently, and other organizations as well, have been doing research and some very important breakthroughs have been made(vitrification first coming to mind). I am grateful for this and hope the research work will only get bigger and better over the next decade. Can we realistically expect this? As it has already been said, keeping alive and healthy is the best way to eventually get an excellent cryonics suspension done using the best methods available. In my case I hope the best methods circa 2040 in a society which allows euthenasia(I will be 73), and by then hopefully cryonics will not be even necessary. best wishes, John _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=17456
