Rafi Haftka wrote: "Terrorism is a traditional weapon of the underdog. Since we are not underdogs, we are the target rather than the perpetrators of terrorism. However, we should not forget that our view of terrorism is colored by the fact that we are top dogs." ++++++++++ Well, I had to rub my eyes and read this post a few times to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. But no, Mr. Haftka does appear to suggest that I should reconsider my view that the murder of innocents by terrorists is a despicable and cowardly act ... I should instead see terrorism as the work of good and honest men who are simply using traditional tools to promote their political/military agenda. I am being asked to somehow excuse their actions because they are the underdogs. Perhaps it is your view that is colored. I suppose if I'd grown up being told by a loving father that terrorism was justifiable if the cause was a good one, I would probably believe him too ... until I grew up and started thinking for myself. Sorry, but terrorists really are "misguided or deranged individuals, supported by fanatics". There is no justification, no rationalization, no excusing terrorism ... period.
