James....
I've also been a big RUSH fan forever. I'm an atheist, and an objectivist
(with a little o, but the difference between big and little o objectivists
is a whole other discussion for another time) and have always found their
lyrics to be rational, uplifting, and inspiring. It may interest you to
know that Neil Peart, their drummer and the lyricist for much of the band's
songwriting, is himself an atheist and an objectivist. I've always thought
of RUSH's music as "folk music for the rationally minded".

Reading your post made me think of another thing altogether, as well.
Recently, I've let the downturn in the economy, and its effect on my
personal well-being and earning power really get me down. But when I see
how you rally against the much more harsh problems in your own daily living
it shows me how silly I'm being. Your perserverance against your medical
issues is inspiring, and I wanted to say so.

I look forward to the day we can discuss our suspension and reanimation
experiences together.

--thanks
