Again, I have to ask how many of these 74 "new" memberships were actually former Alcor members returning to the fold, after some years ago having left to join CryoCare or for other reasons? When I asked this type of question before, Ms. Chapman said she did not have the time to get me specific numbers and that she did not think the issue was important. I think that if there are such returning members included in the 74 number, it distorts the number of real NEW members. Those returning members were once long ago counted as NEW Alcor members, and some Membership Administrator at the time no doubt took credit for them as part of the "% increase" of the time. I'd like to see the real figures, what the real net gain (or loss) for 2001 was, not including people who used to be members. I'd also like an explanation of the 8 "reinstated" members. Presumably these are people whose memberships lapsed for only a month or two, according to Alcor's reinstatement policy? If so, they were probably already members at the beginning of 2001, so what is the point of including them in the figure of 82 memberships "activated"? Were these 8 also included in the "43 memberships inactivated"? If not, obtaining an "overall net gain" of 39 by subtracting 43 from 82 is an outright fiction.
