Disabled people would have problems with cryonics
because they are not allowed to have any assets. Not
even a cemetery plot. All life insurance have to be
declared. Otherwise they will not get SSI or other
government help. All their assets have to be hidden
under the name of a trustee they that can be trusted.
It is possible that they will lose their government
support. Even worse the state can seize such hidden
assets to pay past expenses. Note it would cost the
State $100,000 a year to take care of a very disabled
person. Very old people fall in this category. Maybe
that is why old people do not sign up for cryonics.

Very interesting point!

Does anyone have any comments on the possible impact
of life insurance policies as noted above?
How about in the case where the cryo org (e.g., Alcor)
"owns" the policy, but the cryonicist makes the
payments?
