You are right, David. One thing a person can do, however, is to strongly advocate and support the colonization of space. It's frightening to realize that "all our eggs are in one basket," our fragile Earth. I would feel much better about the survival of the human race if we had colonies on Mars, the Moon, in the asteroids, and around a nearby star or two. Perhaps in 50 years from now the most secure cryonics storage facility will be deep below the surface of an asteroid with an orbit known only to a few.
