This came at an interesting time as another cryofriend had given me some
information about survival in a nuclear war - some experts think that some
people may survive if we have one - depends on what kind of war and lots of
other factors. In reading a little on this idea (I know almost nothing
about it), I found out that the lodge I am constructing in Mayer is pretty
good for a possible survival. It is out of the target zones.

We are constructing 17 cabins (1 St. phase and more cabins later), and a
lodge along the Big Bug creek. The lodge has a basement that is earth
sheltered on three sides and has two stories above it, so it has natural
radiation protection in some of its basement rooms. The basement is 4,000
square feet.

Since we have a food facility there, we will always have a store of food.
We are on a creek that has water in it most of the time at the facility or
close to my facility all the time, even in the dry season. We have our own
well and storage system.

In order to make it a full-fledged back-up facility all we would need is a
generator, solar or wind generating equipment, a small liquid nitrogen plant
and some spare dewars, (well maybe a little more than that).

We will have some propane on hand at all times as we will have storage tanks
for our own use.

If there was some interest in setting up a back up facility, I would be
willing to discuss it with others by e-mailing me direct - not on Cryonet.
I suspect it would take a couple hundred thousand dollars??
