I see no reason not to allow Mike to attempt the experiment. I think
the gains outweigh the risks, and since he's expressed willingness to
sign Waivers from Hell, most of the risk is his. Go for it.

Of course, if something goes wrong, we have a Weird Scenario that 
makes even the Battle of the Coroner pale by comparison. Here's Mike
Darwin, arguably the most visible and influential cryonicist of all,
frozen in a dewar at Alcor . . . and Alcor is legally obligated to take
him out and thaw him. I need no recourse to the dictionary to identify
that as irony.

Mike, I have been told that the building trade uses a grade of "foam"
board much tougher than Styrofoam or "foamcore" - so strong that one
can walk on it without denting it. I don't know a brand name; I'm told
it's blue, as if that were any big help. Does that sound like possible
shoe material?
