The Verichip implantation sounds great except that I do not like the fact
that it transmits a radio signal. I wonder if there have been any longterm
studies of the health effects of such an ongoing transmission?

All of my pet cats have had a PASSIVE chip which was injected subdermally in
the nape of the neck which vets and animal shelters across the country have
scanners to check for identity. At the time I telephoned and asked the
manufacturer of the chip if this could be made available for human beings
and received a lecture on the "Mark of the Beast" from the Bible (!). (And
all along I had thought that was my social security number!).

Even if there were long term problems, the signal emitting Verichip sounds
like an excellent idea for both locating and identifying cryonics patients.
I just wish the passive chip used in animals for many years was also
available. In a violent accident a wrist bracelet or necklace or wallet
card could be lost. Something under your skin would be hard to lose.

Just thinking out loud,
