X-Message-Number: 19004 From: "Robert Moore" <> Subject: I'm Celebrating a Little Bit Date: Wed, 1 May 2002 00:36:37 -0700 Good evening. I just put the champagne in the fridge. While I'm waiting for it to get cold, I've poured myself a small brandy. I'm often of a serious and skeptical mood, but tonight I am smiling and quietly celebrating: Today I received my Alcor membership packet with my membership number, bracelet and necklace. I slowly put on my necklace and thought, "Maybe, just maybe, with a lot of 'luck', I'll make it to that future time of near immortality." Thanks to all, most on this board, many without knowing, who helped me decide to sign up for cryonic suspension. Special thanks to Jennifer Chapman, Rudi Hoffman, and the members of Alcor (NorCA) who helped me with the paperwork for me and my family. I feel it's a little silly to celebrate what is, in essence, buying a lottery ticket without knowing whether I will win, but it feels good to have done something that increases the odds of beating Death at his own game. In any case, I raise my glass up high to you all and sincerely wish you a very, very long life. Robert Moore Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=19004
