This is not apropos your point really, but I just wanted to mention 
another sf novel "about" cryonics (in an across-all-time-and-space sort 
of way), _Tomorrow and Tomorrow_ by Charles Sheffield. Anyone that's 
interested in both sf and cryonics should read it. I have no idea what 
Mr. Sheffield's personal feelings are on the subject.
