I think this expresses an amalgam of the views cryonicists confront from our friends who don't accept what we are trying to do. It is a mix of romantic idealization of the past and present, a fear of the future especially as science and technology will deliver it to us [note references to atomic anihilation] and a fear of change in general. As she walks down the street she should be more aware of how impossible this scene would have been a thousand years ago and how rare 200 years ago. I am no poet, but Samantha deserves a poetic answer because in many ways, as lovely as her poem may seem to be, she just doesn't get it. Any takers?
