X-Message-Number: 19323 From: "John de Rivaz" <> Subject: consciousness Date: Fri, 21 Jun 2002 10:35:47 +0100 There is an article on consciousness by Dr Susan Blackmore, the author of "The Meme Machine" in this week's New Scientist. "To say that consciousness is an illusion is not to say that it doesn't exist, but that it is not what it seems to be". is a quote from and a summary of her article, and seems a change from the concepts in the book, at least as I saw it. Although articles are available on http://www.newscientist.com one week after publication for 10 years, this is only to paying subscribers. Incidentally, I think it may be helpful to those who kindly post interesting web references to mention if it is a subscription only site. In some countries people still pay be the minute for web access. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://www.deRivaz.com : http://www.AlecHarleyReeves.com http://www.longevity-report.com : http://www.autopsychoice.com : http://www.cryonics-europe.org http://www.porthtowan.com Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=19323
