Hi again!

This is for Bill Walker. Yes, one point I was making was that we
needed to learn more about memory, especially because some evidence
now existed that our currently popular theories of memory were
WRONG. I refer to Hebbian theories, which begin with the assumption
that our nerves do not change their connections nor add or disappear
neurons.

I have felt that memory is an important subject for cryonicists for
years now, and tried to find out as much as I could about it. (I
think consciousness is important too, but right now think that
its restoration will be much less of a problem than the restoration
of memory). If you are interested, you can try out a few issues
of PERIASTRON, the newsletter in which I discuss scientific issues
relating to cryonics. This has mostly been about memory in the
the last few years, but I am hoping for more published papers
from the cryonicists who are now working on vitrification. I don't
really feel that I should publish in PERIASTRON any discussion
of materials not accessible to readers to read up on and find out
about for themselves (one reason I think references are important).
If after reading the references you disagree with my judgement,
that's OK. You may even decide to disagree with the references...
again OK if you come up with your own.

There is no requirement that you subscribe to PERIASTRON for a
year. If you only want the latest issue, I can send it to you for
$3.00 US... as a check, not in cash. I'll need your address, of
course. I'll also say that my dealings have found most people
to be trustworthy, so that if you ask me to send you an issue
I will do so on the assumption that you have sent me the money.
For that purpose, my address is Periastron, PO Box 208, O'Connor,
ACT 2602, AUSTRALIA. My email address is

No, you don't have to subscribe, either. I just thought you might
be interested.

Best wishes and long long life to all,

			Thomas Donaldson
