Given the discussion of atheism, theism, etc etc etc, here is my 2 cents worth of opinion. First of all, there are really two questions: 1. Does a god or gods exist? 2. Should a god or gods be worshipped if they do exist? I will point out that someone can logically answer Yes to the Question 1 and No the Question 2. (You can define "worship" however you wish). It's also clear that if they answer No to Question 2, the existence of a god or gods basically becomes irrelevant: they are not paying any attention to these god(s), so their existence or nonexistence becomes irrelevant to anything they do. For Christians, Jews, and even Muslims ... or at least people with one of those backgrounds, the idea that there is no need to worship God seems quite safe. What kind of just God would attack those who simply pay Him no attention at all? To do so suggests that God has some kind of personality defect, needing constant assurance from EVERYONE that He is worshipful by worshipping him. Such a God becomes far less than worth worshipping in the first place. If it isn't safe not to worship, then we should rightly spend our efforts on ways to avoid this immature Creature. Something to think about when god or gods are mentioned. Best wishes and long long life, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=19636
